Visit to Christchurch

We returned from Christchurch yesterday and while there we had a good drive around and saw lots of damaged buildings, roads, bridges, shops following the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Canterbury district just 14 weeks ago, Saturday 4 September 2010. The sight of bricks and rubble lying on the streets still is horrible. Some streets still have portaloos on the kerbside as most likely the sewage systems are still not yet working properly.All told it was a very sobering experience and one I hope to never see again.
